A little while back Amal posted about a show that he had coming up at Cafe Erzulie. I messaged him about it and he invited me out to shoot photos. I had just been introduced to Cafe Erzulie several weeks prior through my friend Jewelyn and I had wanted to see a show there ever since. I also wanted to catch Amal perform live because I had been introduced to his music through my friend/co-worker Pablo, who had shot photos with him somewhat recently at the time. Check out Pablo and Amal’s collabs on his Instagram. It felt like circumstances were aligning just right for me to check off both boxes by going to this show.

As anticipated, Cafe Erzulie is a great place to catch a show, especially when the lineup includes artists as great as mal sounds and Cleo Reed, both of whom create great music and put on an excellent show. Anyways, it was a lovely night of music and I’m glad I got to enjoy it and capture some photos while I did. Check out mal sounds and Cleo Reed wherever you listen to music!
