I found Donna Missal a while back through Hannah Edelman, an old friend from film school who was her tour photographer for a while. Hannah is a gifted photographer and she works with great artists, so I figured Donna wouldn’t be an exception to that. Upon listening to her music, I could tell that she certainly wasn’t. I’ve been a fan of her art ever since. Her music is beautifully written, performed, and produced, and I’ve always appreciated her approach to her visual content as well.

When I saw that she was going to be performing at The Slipper Room, I asked my partner Taylor if she would be interested in joining me, and we quickly made plans. It ended up being one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. Backed by her brother Steve on acoustic guitar, Donna delivered legitimately breathtaking stripped down performances of her songs, along with a couple covers. You could tell that she was so stoked to be there. I expected it to be great, but it far exceeded those expectations. An unforgettable night of music.
